🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Frustration Over Size Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's garments without notifying all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Required Changes Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
